CAMPAIGNS & CAMPAIGN EFFORTS
- A Campaign is a container. It holds related customer-facing points-of-engagement. These customer-facing points-of-engagement are called Campaign Efforts.
- Campaign Efforts are where things happen – where the customer interacts. When you use the wizard to create a contest, MIXER will programmatically create the associated effort.
ORGANIZATIONS & LOCATIONS
- An Organization is a collection of Locations.
- A Location is the end-user’s primary touchpoint with a brand. A Location can be a brick-and-mortar retail store, a radio station, a website and more.
- Locations do not have to belong to an Organization (example – a website or an independent retail store).
- Locations can belong to more than one Organization.
THE MICROSITE
MIXER provides the ability to quickly publish a custom-branded web page where users (both members and non-members) can engage in your Efforts. This page is called the Microsite. Registration forms, surveys, keyword submission and check-ins can all occur on the Microsite. As you build an Effort, the URL for that Effort’s Microsite will be made available to you, as will a QR code suitable for printed assets. Some key points:
- Non-members MUST engage via the Microsite, unless your Effort is text-only.
- Members CAN engage via the Microsite, although most of the time they’ll be able to access the same contests and surveys via their Member Profile Page.
- There are certain types of Efforts, such as an Effort containing multiple contests, in which a Member must engage via the Microsite.
CONTESTS
On MIXER, there are three primary types of Contests: Sweepstakes, Prize Pools and Auctions.
Sweepstakes is a form of contest in which both members and non-members can engage. Points are NOT used in Sweepstakes. Instead, users earn entries by any of the following engagement activities:
- Filling out a registration form or survey
- Submitting one or more keywords, either via the Microsite, the Member Profile Page, sms/text message, or some combination of all three.
- Checking-in to designated locations (this requires access to the device's location services.)
Prize Pools are similar to raffles. Prize Pools are for members only. Members can use earned points to "buy" one or more entries to win the item. The more entries they buy, the greater their odds of winning. Members can enter the Prize Pool via their Member Profile page.
Auctions on MIXER function in the traditional sense. They are for members only. Members can use their earned points to place bids on auction items. The Location or Organization Manager can determine the starting bid as well as maximum bid increments. Members can bid in auctions via their Member Profile page.
LOCK TO LOCATION
When creating keywords, you might see a toggle allowing you to "Lock to Location." If you toggle this to ON, it means that specific keyword can ONLY be successfully redeemed if the user is physically at the Location OR any associated geo-spots.
Please be aware that successful redemption of a keyword that is locked-to-location REQUIRES that a user grant access to their device's location services. A user who does not allow access to location will receive a message similar to this: "[Keyword] is a valid keyword, but you have to be at [Location Name] to redeem it."
GEOSPOTS
Geospots are physical locations associated with a Location that are geofenced, allowing users to check-in and receive a points or entry reward.
To create a Geospot, you must be on the Location Profile tab. Once created, a geospot can be added to an Effort. If the user has allowed location access on their device, a user engaging in that effort will then be able to check-in at a geospot location for a points or entry reward.
Geospots are NOT the same as your Location.
Examples of geospots might include:
- Sponsoring brick-and-mortar partners, such as bars, restaurants, etc.
- Concert venues
- Community events where you may have a brand presence
